Service and achivement awards were distributed to Freshway Foods associates at the company’s recent Associate Appreciation Luncheon. The company holds the Appreciation Luncheon monthly to thank its associates for their hard work and dedication.

Freshway associates were recognized for achieving 5 and 10 years of service with the company. In addition, Craig Quellhorst and Sam Schlagetter were recognized for 15 years of service.

“We appreciate and value our associates. We celebrate their accomplishments and commitment to excellence,” says Tony Arnold, Director of Human Resources for Freshway Foods. “In addition to our current recognition programs, this past month we recognized associates who went above-and-beyond their normal job duties,” adds Arnold. “We celebrate the recognition because – it is a big deal.”

The company awarded gift cards and a 55” HD television to associates who qualified for the company’s quarterly incentive program drawing. Associates qualify for the drawing by maintaining perfect attendance and a positive safety record.  Twenty-four associates were recognized for perfect attendance during the quarter, with each receiving a $50 gift card.

Freshway Logistics honored driver John Lawrence for his years of service and retirement. John is a member of the company’s Million Mile Club, and has over 17 years of service to Freshway.

In addition to the service awards, two Freshway associates were recognized for going above-and-beyond their normal job expectations to contribute to Freshway’s success. Dawn Deal, Crewleader, and Michele Allison, Human Resources Generalist, were nominated by their coworkers for extraordinary performance, and were rewarded with $25 gift cards.

Freshway Foods has always placed a high priority on organization and cleanliness, and this month the company recognized the first shift Receiving department for their housekeeping efforts with a pizza party.

In addition to the quarterly incentive program drawing and service awards, the company holds an annual company picnic and a health fair for associates and their families. Freshway Logistics, the company’s forward distribution and logistics company, also awards its drivers for achieving safe driving milestones with membership in the Million Mile Club.
