Freshway Associates at Y-Fest

On Saturday, several Freshway Foods associates participated in a corporate challenge at Y-Fest, an event held by the Sidney-Shelby County YMCA to celebrate their 50th anniversary. Our team competed against associates from other local companies in three events.

Corey Abbott (Accounting) represented Freshway in the 5K race and came in first place overall.

Raquel Bolheimer (Maintenance/HR/Accounting Intern) took fourth place in the boat challenge, where companies made boats using only cardboard and tape. Although she didn’t win the race, it was clear that the boat, which was made by our three summer interns, was the best looking boat in the race.

Everyone involved with the festivities had a great time supporting a local organization that does a lot of good in our community. For more information about becoming a member of the YMCA, click here.
